  • Gain an understanding of the healthcare journey for a patient to transition in England.
  • Explore sexual and broader health inequalities in trans people
  • Learn the key barriers and enablers to providing holistic care for trans and non binary people.

Tackling Health Inequalities in Provider Settings

Dr Simon Watts, Consultant in Public Health, Manchester University NHS FT

Outline of talk:

Simon will give an overview of health inequalities, what they are and what causes them. The talk will then explore how inequalities can be reduced in healthcare settings, arguing doing this is everyone’s business. As a result of the session attendees will have a better understanding of what health inequalities are and ways of reducing them.

Outline of talk:

I plan to talk about the diagnosis and management of epilepsy, highlighting specialist treatment options available at the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences, including newest advances.
