THE KENNETH BLOOR MEMORIAL FUND TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP - CLOSING DATE 30TH DECEMBER 2011 Application are invited from members of the Manchester Medical Society Section of Surgery. Applicants, who must be surgeons in training, should email a brief curriculum vitae and a plan for their proposed travel and study to Miss Fiona Lamb, Administrator, Manchester Medical Society at admin@mms.org.uk by no later than 30th December 2011. The successful candidate will be awarded a cheque for £750 for travel after the 1st April 2012. He/she will be asked to present the results of his/her experience in a 5/10 minute presentation prior to a general meeting of the Section of Surgery. TRAINEES' PRIZE - CLOSING DATE 9TH DECEMBER 2011 Applications are invited from trainees and all non career grade surgeons within the area. A summary of no longer than 300 words is to be submitted. The papers selected will be presented by the authors at a meeting of the Section of Surgery on Tuesday 13th March 2012 at 6.30 pm. Presentations should take no longer than 10 minutes. MANCHESTER
MEDICAL SOCIETY
New to the Section of Surgery, students registered
at the University of Manchester Medical School are invited to submit abstracts
of case presentations, original research, literature review or clinical audit to
be made at the Surgical Trainees' Prize evening on Tuesday 13th March 2012.
A total of six abstracts will be selected for a poster presentation which
will be judged by a panel of surgeons. Each poster presentation will be awarded
a certificate for their portfolio and a prize will be awarded for the best
poster at the evening dinner.
