ALAN HILTON MEDAL
CLOSING DATE : MONDAY
22ND OCTOBER 2007
The annual award of the Alan Hilton Medal was initiated in 1986 by
the Section of Odontology to commemorate the late Alan Hilton who was a member of the
Section for thirty-four years, becoming President of the Section in 1959 and President of
the Manchester Medical Society in 1968. The medal is a prestigious award and the
names of the winners are inscribed on a board at the Turner Dental School.
The medal is awarded to the author of the best paper
presented at the Members' Evening of the Section in January of each year. This
evening is traditionally an opportunity for younger members of the Section to gain
experience in the presentation of papers. Papers on dental
research subjects are invited from general dental practitioners, community dentists and
hospital and university dentists, up to and including the level of specialist registrar
grade. The successful applicants will be required to make a short presentation (no
longer than 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of questions and discussion) on the evening
MONDAY 28TH JANUARY 2008.

If you wish to compete for the Alan
Hilton Medal send a summary (not more than 300 words) of your
paper to the Administrator. Applicants must be members of the Section of
Odontology. For further information
