The Section holds 6 meetings a year including 2 afternoon symposia.  The section also awards an annual prize presented at a meeting held jointly with the North West Regional Association of Physicians.

CLINICAL RESEARCH PRIZE
- CLOSING DATE 26TH JANUARY 2007
Applications are invited from physicians up to and including senior registrar grade.  Abstracts of approximately 1000 words dealing with research on a clinically related topic, with which the candidate has been personally involved, should be submitted. The successful applicants will be required to make a short presentation at a meeting on 4th April 2007 and the winner will be presented with a cheque for the value of £500.

JUNIOR DOCTOR CLINICAL MEDAL PRIZE
Applications are invited from junior doctors, up to and including Senior House Officer / FY2, to compete for the fifth Section of Medicine clinical medal and prize. Abstracts of no longer than 600 words on a clinical case for presentation should be submitted by the CLOSING DATE TUESDAY 31ST JULY 2007. The best selected will be presented at a meeting of the Section of Medicine on Wednesday 3rd October 2007 as part of the afternoon symposium. The winner of the best clinical case presentation will be awarded with a cheque for £50 and a medal.
