Science and storytelling – adventures in science communication

Dr Heather Williams MBE, a British medical physicist working as a Consultant Medical Physicist at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, where she heads up the Nuclear Medicine Group.

In this talk, Heather will discuss her wide-ranging experience in science communication, the joys and challenges of various events and activities, and will provide advice on how and why we should make the effort to connect with non-expert audiences.

Learning objectives:

  • To introduce science communication as a field
  • To hear from examples of good practice in science communication and gain awareness of common pitfalls
  • To learn about opportunities for science communication accessible to professionals in medical imaging

This course provides 1 CPD Credit in accordance with the CPD Scheme of the Royal College of Radiologists.

CPD certificates will be awarded to attendees.
